This weekend I went to Iowa with my friends Jeremy irish-girl and
Jack It was a wonderfully restful weekend for me, except for the drive down and staying up a bit late playing video games. The drive down was particularly stressful as what is generally a 3.5 hour drive was more like 6, the first half of the drive was fine, but the second half started with driving up the highway and suddenly having a patrolmen in the road waving us to the right lane followed by a police car in the right lane causing us to shift back to the left lane and suddenly hitting glare ice, probably like an inch thick, and the rest of the drive was a blur of blowing snow, patches of sheer ice and slow driving topped with a 1.5 hour sit on the shoulder of the freeway while a semi that had spun out and blocked Interstate 90 was being cleared off the road. It was an adventure.. comming home today, we stopped for dinner in Fairmont MN and ate at a place called the Ranch, typical Family style dining, anyway, when we went it, the first thing the waitress said to us was that the All you can eat Chicken Dinner is no longer available as they are out of chicken.. must have had run.

OK, I have to say that I"m a little dissapointed in Apple computer for their packaging of i-life for the up to date program, I just got a new computer and it should have shipped with the latest software, but the computer had bean sitting for a while I think and was packaged before they could get the i-life up to date with the computer, so I called apple to get the most current version of i-life (lets face it, I wanted to play with Garage band as much as the next guy, maybe more, I still have to plug my guitar into it to see how that works, anyway, so I called apple, they wanted $20 to ship me the CDs, now I was a little upset with this as in the past if apple didn't ship stuff with current version of operating systems they would send out for free or maybe a minnimum handling charge, well, I thought $20 was a bit steep, I still think it is, but at least I know where the money went, it went into the grossly oversized box that my discs were shipped in. The software comes with 1 DVD and 1 CD, now I am going to interrupt and say that I'm dissapointed that software no longer ships in sturdy cases that all software seems to be shipped in plastic sleeves now, but that aside, I recieved 2 plastic sleeves with a disc in each sleeve shipped in a box that was 20" by 20" by 8 inches deep. I was stunned, then to add to my confusion I figured since I was paying for that shipment might as well get some blank DVDs with the purchase and ordered a 5 pak, I can get discs cheaper, but the convience thing had some appeal, anyway, that shipped seperatly in a case that was half the size, now that was a 5 pack of discs in those slim cases.. I don't know thats my rant for today.

FUnny how this happens, I finally get some time to sit and write in my blog and all the things over the last few weeks that I have thought would be good to blog about have all vanished. I will say I have found a new band that I like and that is a band calld The Faint, they are out of Oklahome and yet they don't sing that song, at least not that I have found on my CD of theirs called Dance Macabre. They are kind of a cross beteween Fischerspooner and Marilyn Manson with a singer who sounds alot like was it Simon LeBon who sang for Duran Duran.. who ever it was that sang for Duran Duran, he sounds like him.. Its a little more 80's New Wave Punky then Fischerspooner and a little harder driving Keyboards hence the Marilyn Manson comparison. It really has me looking at dusting off my keys and getting things started again.. I already took one of my old songs and brought it into soundtrack and started doing some loop work with it... hmm, that could be alot of fun.. ideas area already a plenty. Just have to get to work.. and I don't even have time to write in my Blog. So Far I am doing pretty well batting my way through Birthday Month, wich Kicks off with my Irish Girls Birthday 1/16, my Mothers 1/20, Michelles grandmothers 1/30, my grandmother 1/31, My Sister inLaw and Fathers Birthdays 2/10, and Jacks Birthday on 2/16.. and those are just my living birthdays, if I include members of my family no longer with us, I would have to include my Moms Mother on 2/8, my Grandfather on 2/14, my great grandfather on 2/12. so basically if you go to the card store looking for a birthday card, just give it up.. I have already taken them all and sent them to my friends and family.
OK, I still can't think of any of the great comments I was going to write, but I have written something so I feel better about things..
