not much blogging going on

well, maybe a little, but I do notice a dramatic slow down in my blogging as well as the blogging of my friends, I am not trying to guilt anybody into blogging or anything, just an observation, I think it is because it is the summer and there are so many other things to do, plus it is lighter longer so you don't really want to sit inside and blog. With that said, I will enter another entry in my blog. I got an e-mail from my brother to check out this website from an Italian company called Powergen, Now the web site isn't that spectacular, but what is memorable and noteworthy (if you havn't recieved the e-mail yet) is the name of the web site, now if you are going to put up a site in Italy for Powergen, you really wouldn't think somebody would choose this website url, But they did, if you wish to go visit, just type in http://www.powergenitalia.com Other then that, not much to report there, there is a new Janes Addiction CD, I have bean enjoying that, David J from Bauhaus helped write the title track Strays. Friday they come and install my new stove to replace my dying one. The oven went out last week, I was surprsided at how much I use the oven, I didn't think I used it at all, and I find that everyday I'm wishing it worked. so with all that said, I will get to the vitals.

Food Eaten: Channa Masala
Music LIstened to: Janes Addiction, Chicks on Speed, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Love and Rockets, Pigface, Animatrix soundtrack.
MOral of the Day: When your snail is moving really slow for a snails pace and you think it might be dead, wait until tomorrow, it might yet still survive.

Bad Friend

This morning on my commute to work, I was pulling onto the freeway, and looked over to see href="http://www.moonpost.com/jack">Jack driving next to me.. I thought wow, that is cool, as Jack is on his way to his new job, I was going in a little earlier then my usual time as I had a meeting this morning. anyway, just as I look over, I notice jack slowing down, I figure he sees me and is working to time it so we can drive together, I accelerate to get on the highway, I look away to merge into traffic and look again and jack is now behind me pulling into the shoulder.. oh no, he is having car problems.. what should I do, my cell phone is in the trunk of my car.. I can't call him, and I'm in traffic moving rather quickly away from him.. well, this is the part of shame.. I drove to work, then called him on his cell. Jack was fine.. he laughed and forgave me, but I still feel badly, I have learned a valuable lesson, I will now carry my cell phone in the cab of my car. so when I see my friends driving I can call them on their cell and we can have a conversation speeding down the highway. In my defence, the highway I was on is under massive construction and there really arn't many exits open these days.. so again, I get on my knees and appologize to you Jack I am glad your car started back up and you made it to work. Now on to my next topic.. I recieved an e-mail today addressed to [first name] [last name] I thought it was pretty funny, obviously someone got their coding messed up for grabbing names. it was nice to recieve spam with such a personalized touch.. it made me feel like they knew the true me.. for a moment I thought about replying, letting them know that their message touched me.. but then I decided that these hot and excited women just waiting for me [first name] [last name] were more then I could handle. Why is it that porn spam that is trying to be so personal, like they know you and are really trying to intice you use both your first and last names.. I kow when there is some woman that I want to impress I casually walk up to her and say "hey [first name] [last name] you are looking fine... etc etc..

Music listened to: Dandy Warhols, Animatrix soundtrack, Chicks on Speed
Food eaten: Garden burger Chickn patties (our stove is dead)
Moral of the day: if it is empowered to do one thing, it won't but another will be equally surprising.

trying to Roll

I"m hoping to write a little more now that the month is flowing on.. I have no idea what I am goign to write about tonight, but I figure I will figure something out. I have bean trying to encode a video of my band playing at a club back in 1990 to DVD, and have had nothing but problems with it.. funny how a project can just get cursed and no matter what you do, the curse remains.. I know I will get it, its just odd. The good news is that it is making me slow down on the work, The bad news is that the reason I have started this project is I learned that the person who was the lead singer/songewriter/guiter player in the band was in a really bad car crash and may never walk.. funny how badly I feel about this, and I haven't seen him or spoken to him in over 10 years, I only know this as I know a friend of a friend of his.. I heard it through the grape vine, I thought that maybe putting together this disk might be a nice surprise, kind of a pop out of the darkness. I want to have this disk done by the weekend so I can send it off, I know there is no rush, but it is something that I have wanted to do for years, and now I have a real drive to get it done. anyway, I wasn't thinking I was going to write something so depressing, I figured I'd have some smart ass comment to make on my site here and I would pat myself on the back for being clever.. I guess not tonight..

Music Listened to: Love and Rockets, Marilyn Manson, Lords of Acid, Underworld (by the way, the movie by the same name looks cool)

Food Eaten: Spegetti with garlic bread cooked on the grill (our oven is Dead, I sence a trip to Appliencesmart in the near future)

Moral of the day: When length is known to be long, and a wide eyed stare begins to glaze, Thats the moment to strike.

trying to get back into writing.

well, I am making another entry which is good, only like my 4th one this month, but going down the grand canyon for 1.5 weeks so I have an excuse for not writing then. So now I will bore you with the details of my weekend. This weekend we dog sat on Friday night and Saturday, which was a good thing to see how Akira would handle having another dog in the house, having another dog in the house really made me realize how lucky I am to have the dog I do. We babysat for a dog named Tigger, Tigger is a Bichon and is full of energy, I don't think he was ready for the mellow life at our house this weekend, still recovering from the Grand Canyon trip, poor sleep for a week will do that to you. Anyway, Tigger is used to havign a 5 year old running around, so I am sure that was a bit of a shock. Tigger has never bean away from his house in his 3 years of life so I think he was nervous and he decided that it was important for him to Mark my furnature, I wan't very pleased with this behavior, I'm sure if we were to keep him for a few days he would learn to ask to go out, I was told he was house broken, I think he was mostly trying to figure out his place, Akira is top dog, and knew it, Tigger would do something Akira didn't like and he would do this great Elvis Billy Idol lip thing and Tigger would run off elsewhere. Saturday night made FAjitas which was nice, after a week of VEggie burgers on the river, it was nice to make fajitas and relax on the poarch, although I do miss the no biting insects in the desert thing. Saturday night we went and saw Pirates of the Caribean. I thought it was a good movie althoguh I am scared as it now looks like Disney is trying to bring new life to old rides by turning them into movies. A trailer for a movie on the Haunted Mansion, whats that about. Next it will be a Movie on Its a small world or Space Mountain, or heaven forbid that ride where you see a family through time and how they live in different decades, sorry I can't remembe the name of it, its in tomorrow land, it is a circular ride. Anyway, today took it easy mowed the lawn, had to fix my lawn mower, the link cable that engages the autodrive feature of my mower broke, and I couldn't find the replacement part in the manual to order a new one, I'll have to go to sears to figure it out, but I was able to fix it with some Aircraft cable and some clamps It should last for years, but I will go and order the part. Anyway not much else to report from here, back to you at mission control.

Food EAten: Portebello Mushroom Fajitas
Music Listened to: Chicks on Speed, Peter Murphey, Cure, Bauhaus.
Moral of the day: don't go into the bushes or the chaineys may bite your ankles.

Welcome Home

no wait, that is supposed to be for me that big welcome home.. I returned late last night from my trip down the grand canyon, and let me tell you that first step is a doosy.. buh dum pah. .. no but seriously.. a week ago monday we hopped aboard a raft in Lees Ferry Arizone just a few miles from the Lake Powel Dam. We then began a 6 day rafting adventure down the colorado river through the grand canyon. We Traveled 189 miles in those days, went through a bunch of rapids, some of which were category 5 on the European scale, they classified them as 10 on the grand canyon scale, I don't understand nor try to. We took 200 pictures, still have to get my film devoloped otherwise I would like picture, I'll do that later. I had never seen the grand canyon, I thought this was a pretty decent way to see it for the first time.. it was pretty amazing. We had on our boat a gentlemen by the name of Gary Lind we saw his book it was beautiful. I am now looking to see if I can find it to purchase it. We slept on the ground no tents, just the stars over our heads, and a hot wind blowing. What happens is the rocks absorb all this heat, then at night, it is all released, and it just becomes this hot wind.. some nights the wind just stopped around 11 pm and it was almost as if the canyon sighed and then a gentle cool breeze would blow, those nights were the ones where we could sleep. We hiked into many side canyons and that was where I thought the beauty really was, one of the cool things about the canyon is how isolated it seemed in there, only a few times could we see people looking over the edge.. otherwise, we almost never saw another person. I think it was the 4th day I got what the boatman called water poisoning.. basically my electrolites got too low and my body stopped absorbing water, so I threw up and got incredibly week.. fortnunetly it was minor and within a few hours I was feeling much better, of course I had gotten myself cooled down by then to. Then it was only water and Gatoraid for the rest of the trip for me. I really enjoyed seeing the stars at night, I saw many shooting stars and satelites.. It was so dark in the canyon the first few nights, the last night the moon was a waxing gibus phase and it was lighting up the canyon pretty well. I think the most interesting part of the canyon isn't what I saw or did or any of that, they were all great, but the amazing part is what I feel now.. I have this incredible feeling of disconnect from the world, I just feel like it doesn't make sence, it was so simple in the Canyon.. I can see why someone would want to be a boatman there, I don't think it is the life for me, but it does have its appeal. The days just became a blur, they didn't mean anything, time didn't mean anything, except when it was getting to that hot part of the afternoon, when you would want to be at a place where you could escape the heat. Our guide did a great job of finding places to seek refuge, normally a small hike, and then a small waterfall, a stream, a place where pools of water and shadows bread tadpoles and greens. I know, that sounds like a really nasty salad. Anyway, I think that about sums up the trip.. words don't really describe the adventure.. the rapids were fun, we got wet, but they were such a secondary part to me.. the real part to me was the escape, the things I saw and the people I was with.

Music LIstened to: I was living in the grand canyon, no power, no music..

Food EAten: lots of veggie burgers, some really cool lunches and basic breakfasts

Moral of the week: You can't let the little things get in the way of your good time...they really don't matter.
