Circut City

ok.. so I have a question.. what is the plural of Circut city, you know the store.. lets say I plan to drive to 26 circut Citys.. is it Citys, since it is a proper name, or is it cities.. I'm so confused.. I just don't know.. and then there are those who wonder why I am such a bad speller, and then the man throws delimas like this at me.. what am I to do.. no wonder I have problems.. Ok.. so we finally saw Casablanca.. the white house.. I was dissapointed, it had nothing to do with Washington DC and the white house.. I was confused that they called it casablanca, and spoke french, I thought casa blanca was spanish... I'm so confused.. I actually thought it was one of those movies that if the right person took the story could re-do the story and update it.. it was a great story, I just thought there were parts that had become dated.. obviously powerful in its time, but a little difficult to swallow in todays media crazed society. I mean, come on.. did any body believe Bogart was crying when he put his head in his arm.. maybe 40 years ago, but now... was a bit tough.. and yes I know, there are those who will claim I have no clue.. I do.. I thought it was a very touching story, one that has poingnance, just one that I think could be so much more powerful with a face lift, and I don't mean doing Casa Blanca 2, Richards revenge.. or anything.. I don't even think you call it casablanca.. just take the situation and make a new version of it.. much like any of the thousand re-makes of shakespears plays lately. anyway, I'm tired tonight.. so I am going to go.. I fully expect to get hate mail from the words I said about Casablanca.. and while you are flaming me.. please ponder the plural of Circut City..

The plural of Circuit City is....of course........

Many Circuit City Stores.......sorry couldn't help myself..

(plus you notice I didn't even give you crud for misspelling Circuit...... ;-) )

Depending on the usage..most common form would be Circuit City's

Misuse of an apostrophe! I don't think it needs once, since an apostrophe indicates possession or a contraction. I think it's most likely: Circuit Citys. Since, as Bill points out, it's a proper name.

Along these same lines, my friend Juggy recently sent me an email wondering if the plural of babymama was babysmamas or babymamas.

Something to think about.

I think the plural of Babymama would be either Babysmama or babymamas.. going back to my misspelled example..babysmamas would be like circut citys stores, try saying that one 10 times fast.

don't mean to scare anybody, but I did see a blurb the other day about some sort of Casablanca remake with Ben Affleck and J.Lo. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Dear Sir,
I was in your Lafayette, Louisiana store today looking for a telephone. The young lady who helped me was very nice, and I picked one quickly with her knowledge. Well trained. I then went to the music department to look for a couple of CD's for a trip we will be making today. Up above the department there were six monitors playing loud rap misic. Though some of this music is fine for the average sinsibilities, this was not. It promoted violence, drugs, and sex. I called the manager over, Mr. Tysen, and he told me management from high up makes the decisions on what to play, and that it is art in many forms, catering to an "eclectic" group of customer. While we stood there, for about three minutes, I noted one man on the screen throwing up letting it fly all over his face, the next sceen was a ganster type with a gun pointed at the screen using the "f" word, though the manager said it was bleeped out. A man came on moments later who was holding his private parts through his pants, while another woman behind him was gyrating suggestively in very reveiling cloths. I was very suprised that this young man would take such a stand, without any regard for my thoughts on the subject. When I mentioned that I worked for a newspaper he told me, "This conversation is over. You shouln't have told me you were press, from this point on you will have to speak to our legal department." I handed him the phone, and the CD of South American music, and told him he had lost a customer. Loudly, for his employees to hear, he said "Okay sir! Have a nice day."

Now my wife owns a business here in lafayette, so I know a bit about what it takes to stay in business in a town such as this. We havn't the same norms that might be found in a major city, and your promoting what I consider to be "filth", that is, immoral, and antisocial behavior, will in the long run be your downfall.

This is bad for our community, and I am compelled to take a stand against it. My small stand, as time goes on, will damage your business relations here, as it is evident that you care nothing but for what your bottom line brings, and little or nothing for our young who frequent your establishment. Because of this you will have only yourself to blame when your doors close.
