YAY!!!

Finally after a long quest I finally got the New Ministry CD. You have no idea what it took to finally get it.. it all started a week ago.. I borrowed it from one of my co-workers.. now, many of you will ask, why didn't I make a copy of it.. well, I don't do that.. if I like an album, I will purchase it.. that way, the record companies who are taking all the money from the CD anyway, will make more like it.... anyway, enjoyed listening to it so I wanted to get it for myself.. so over the weekend.. I went to a couple of stores and dind't find it, I was only half expecting to find it, Best Buy was one place I thought might just have it.. nope.. so last week I had some meetings downtown and had an hour to pass beteween meetings, I figured I was right by the downtown Target, might as well stop in.. I didn't expect to find it there, but I was right there figured I'd stop.. so then I said to myself.. Let It Be.. they will have it.. nope.. I was stunned that they didn't have it.. But, I have never had any luck at Let It Be records, so I went to Musicland.. they did have it.. for $22. When did CD's start to cost $22 thats outrageous.. I refused to pay it.. so.. I stopped by the Best Buy Mega store there by there new headquarters on 494.. I figured that that store has to have everything.. the execs stop by and they bring all the important relations there to visit.. it is the show off store for Best Buy.. so... I walk in, they had every MInistry CD ever put out, except the new one.. I finally got frustrated and ordered it online.. It Came tonight.. I can't wait to put it in the CD player and relax to the gentle sounds of Ministry.

my first exposure to ministry went something like this:

between bands at lollapalooza '92, my petite friend Jessica and I notice that there's lots of space up front. we weasel our way up there, and talk and daydream waiting for the next band to begin. we're too dumb to actually figure out who's playing next, we just stand there and don't pay attention to the stage setup that's happening right in front of us.

as the band comes on, jessica notes the presence of skeletons on stage. we look at each other worriedly. the rampage begins, and my cure t-shirt with robert's face on the front is nearly ruined as jessica clutches it for dear life, trying to avoid being picked up and passed by the male throng around us.

we barely made it out alive, and my t-shirt was never the same.

the end.

Wow.. I remeber that show so well too.. a little differently though, I knew who was up next.. I got myself into the throngs of people.. It was crazy.. then, after I was exhausted in my fight for survival, I then had to muster up the energy to party to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.. My other MInistry concert expierence is an even better one that I think speaks to the cult of Ministry..I went and saw them at Roy Wilkens.. this would be the Filth Pig tour.. when I walked in, I noticed that I knew some of the guys running video for the tour, so I stopped and talked.. after the show, they invited me up into the show booth, a make shift stage in the back of the room with the Sound board and light boards etc. Anyway.. standing up there talking as the crowd slowly left.. I realized as the crowd went by that every body that was passing were closer and closer to the stage.. pretty soon, I started seeing bruises..then one guy emerged head bloody, laughing.. big cash in his head, I think he was at the stage.. Thats Ministry...ok everybody.. growl..
