Iowa

Yes.. Iowa.. I said it.. I went there this weekend.. had a great time.. my friends Jeremy and Jack joined Michelle and I. I had a very good time.. it was good for me to get away for a bit.. Jeremy describes the weekend very well.. and you should check out what he has to say.. anyway.. we went down friday night and Akira had his little Anal Leakage problem.. I was so embarrassed, anyway.. we stopped in Mankato at the Statue of the Giant Happy Chef. Jack and Jeremy decided he must be a Baker because he looked Baked. We got to the "cottage" it isn't any more, it used to be, but then my parents wanted to expand it a bit and discovered that the foundation wasn't very good, in fact the Engineer camout out from under the house shaking his head wondering what was holding the house up at all. Anyway. so they knocked it down and built their dream house.. it is still the cottage even though you could fit my house in a corner of the basement. Anyway.. back to my story, we got to the cottage around 11:30 and got the place opened up and the heat on and hot water on, and just kind of hung out eating Peanuts.. Jeremy brough Cashews and Jack brough Peanuts.. so we gourged our selves on that. Then went to bed.. Anyway, got up the next morning and had a very liesurly morning, and then I went in to see my Grandmother who is 96 and in a nursing home.. not because she has lost her mind, she has really bad arthritis and can't get around and needs help.. a few months ago she had to move from assisted living to the nursing home because she fell and hurt her back.. that is healing, but she can't walk, even though she sometimes forgets that. Anyway, I went to visit her and she is so amazing.. she was napping so when she woke up she was kind of confused, which is tough, she is the smartest person I have ever known my entire life.. she was an amazing woman, and I am lucky to have known her, and i hope that I got a gene or two from her. Anyway...went back to the cottage and we went for a drive, with really no place to go in mind so we started around the lake. Ended up at a Pawn shop.. it had some real crap in it.. really they had crap for sale.. ok.they didn't, but the stuff they had was crap. Anyway, drove up the road a little further and found this Antique market that had all these booths, I think we spend about 1.5 hours in there poking around, then off to another Antique store that was also a coffee shop.. and poked around there for a bit.. then back into town, stopped by my grandmothers again.. then to the video store for an hour of indecision, ended up renting Tart.. it sucked.. don't rent it.. then home from the store and I made Pasta with homemade sauce and home made French Bread.. it was really really yummy.. The sauce turned out great.. went to the store got some food for breakfast and Jeremy wanted to buy Jack a birthday cake and we bought ice cream and had that.. then back home.. watched the movie.. see above comment.. then started chatting around the fire place.. I made the mistake of laying on the floor.. boom. I'm asleep.. Jeremy was asleep on the chair.. but I did have a fire in the fireplace the whole night and it was really awsom.. I got up.. took a Jucuzzi bath.. that was really nice then to bed and up tthis morning.. played video games and then drove home.. it was a very very nice weekend. Sorry so long.. but had to write it all..
